about

Kicking off 2011 we have put together a package that were hoping will push the boundaries in the tech dance movement. Andy Richmond releases what's to be his biggest track to date "Megamind" on Dirty Stop Outs. A tribal but energetic tech dance monster that crosses over the genre barrier bringing in breakbeat elements to a vocal some of you may be familiar with "Megamind"

What makes this release so big is the extremely talented tech dance producers we have on board to provide there own take on this track. What a line up we have: Diablik (Ukraine), Dj Husband (Australia) SickMaN (Ukraine), Aaron Olson (Canada), Oyaebu (Russia), Leon Clarke (Ireland) and Dj Ramp (Denmark). To preview any of the remixes just check them out below, you can expect to be able to download Andy Richmond - Megamind (Incl Remixes) on Monday 24th January, just click the Store button.
Diablik stamps his own sound all over this keeping it very euro sounding at the start but once the sidechain get's going he makes great use of the vocal with plenty to listen out for in the breakdown, a massive breaks go crazy moment and then winding it down nicely into the synth and after that, well you will hear yourself the euphoric sound breaks in and your in heaven.

Australia's Dj husband remix boasts a big room clash with a slight techno kick opening up, however the sidechain works nicely off the beat which gives it plenty of bounce and is sure to see clubbers moving. When the breakdown smashes in were met with a myserious synth that get's you thinking and wondering what's to come, the tribal sound peaks alongside and it's a certain hands in the air moment!

SickMaN certainly delivers on his remix, it goes straight to it from the very first clash. The kick is thunderous and the percussion is second to none if your into your tech dance like we are! The vocal comes in, it get's you thinking what's happening and the kick is greeted with a nice sidechain that adds some extra thunder. Minutes later the breakdown comes in but it's introduced in such a way through the vocal that you know it was made for it. After a short stint in a drum n bass style breakdown, the peak climaxes and the "Megamind" vocal again which has been stretched to sound like it's made for a Marvel comics supervillains rollercoaster or something crazy!

Canada's Aaron Olson adds his energetic trance fuse to this one, the production level is second to none and it's guaranteed to get those legs moving. With some cleverly placed patterns giving "Megamind" a more gentle touch but energetic all the same this remix provides a huge global feel to the release. A new sound for Dirty Stop Outs and we love it.
Man of the moment Oyaebu lends his skills to Dirty Stop Outs for his remix of Megamind, starting off you would think it's an electro track about to get happy but that quickly changes, a slight tech dance sidestep and all of a sudden there is loads going on. He makes use of the breakdown adding an evil dubstep journey that's extremely effective and is then tied in neatly with the bassline with the odd 8-bit stab thrown in to throw you off the mark and keep you in anticipation.

Dj Ramp joins Dirty Stop Outs with a clean and to the point remix, kicking off with plenty of effects which dives into an intro style breakdown which would suit any tech dance set as an opener, then it gets a let loose moment while the synth comes in and that growling sidechain, plenty going on here and we love it.

Leon Clarke certainly delivers with his take on "Megamind", it opens up with an explosion and percussion going off like it's the last track of the night. When the bassline gets going it's dark and heavy, a techno styled snare is thrown in which gives it a lift, kind of structuring it into place nicely Leon uses this to give off the energy of a track at 150 bpm, although it certainly isn't. The real magic takes place directly after the breakdown, which is something we feel was needed on this package, the vocal is used like it's being scratched in perfectly by Kentaro. This remix is well worth a dance to.

Some DJ's supporting this release are: Kutski, Nish, Shusei, Overflow, Mad Child, The Third Man, Ryoji Takashi, Brent Sadowick, Joe E, Johan Nilsson, Dermot Bateman, Colm Okeeffe and more!
